Nothing on my map is labeled, so let me break it down for you guys:
In the upper right corner with the sepia tone is my mother. She gave me the most encouragement to do art, and she herself was an artist too. Alas, she is no longer with us. She passed away shortly after her 30th Birthday.
The largest pic just to the right of my mother is my daughter, Lili Rose. To me she is pure awesome and so damn curious about the world around her. When I look at her I can see nothing but great things in her future. Which makes me smile.
Just under my mother is Optimus Prime holding Elita-One. Hasbro's Transfromers (G1) influenced me greatly. It has everything I like now. Big Robots, Good verus Evil, Aliens from another planet, all rolled into one.
Next to Optimus is a shot of Robocop. There's something about a man's struggle to regain his humanity after being turned into something he never asked to become. That and the first film did an awesome job at poking fun at life in the 80s, much like the game GTA: Vice City.
Below Robocop is an image of Asuka from Neon Genesis. That anime, the story arc, and the animation I loved. Coincidentally it also had Giant Robots. Heh.
All that we have left are the 1x1 photos of Random People, and a T-800 and yes, a pic of the DMC-12 Delorean Time Machine Crashing into the TARDIS from Doctor Who.
I will get to who the people are in a sec. First I will explain about the none human things. Back to the Future, Doctor Who, and Terminator all are about time, and traveling through it and the consequences that follow doing such. The Back to the Future Trilogy, Terminator and T2 showed us that the future isn't written and that it is possible to change it, although it may cause paradoxes along the way. and Doctor Who is just a very interesting show, clever and smart with it's own rules set to help explain away the paradoxes that arise.
There's another thing that influence's me. More Robots: the Terminators, Daleks and Cybermen... heh. I'm noticing a theme here.
Lastly, I said I would get to the people. Aside from my mother and daughter. There are 6 artist that influence me the most. Some may not even realize it and all can be found here on DA.
Above the Delorean and TARDIS and just to the right of Asuka from Neon Genesis you have 2 Women. From Left to Right...
Penanggalan Bethany formally CrimsonSacrifice on DA. Beth's work is just amazing. She's not like the stereotypical girl. She loves all sorts of creepy crawly things and things that go bump in the night. This can be seen in her art, from animate stuffed animals to roaches that look like eyeballs, to Boogle, the penanggalan clown. That and I love the way she draws said Vampiric Clown, with curves.
Next to Beth you have my dear friend,omengoddess Rica. Though she doesn't have much posted, I can assure you she is as much of an artist as anyone else here on DA. I know, I lived with her. But it's not her art that really influences me. It's her as a person. We've been there for each other for over 5 years now, lending each other support and being there.
It doesn't hurt that she's easy on the eye and a woman with curves. hehe.
This should leave us with the last four in the lower left, next to the T-800. For sake of simplicity, I will start from the top left of these four guys/gal, and go clockwise.
Top left is my friend megadevianttron Zac, formally known as Megatigertron/Shreddlock. His art is unique to him. It is very stylized and exaggerated. He shows no fear when pushing the shapes of people to their max while still making them look like people.
But as with Rica, it's not only his art that influences me, he's just a fun guy to shoot the shit with. That and he loves Transformers. heh. Aside from that I like the way he likes to work with me while I color/ render something he has drawn. It's a very collaborative process. The sharing of ideas, I love it.
To the right of him is theCHAMBA Jeffery "Chamba" Cruz. I wish I could call this guy my friend, but I don't talk to him nearly enough to. When we have spoke, he has been very friendly as social and not arrogant like a few others I have spoken too. It's really his art that influences me. The way he draws to the way he renders. On more than one occasion I have used Chamba's works as examples. I had someone tell me that Sharpie's suck and you can't do anything good with those kind of markers. I used Chamba's marker work proved him wrong. heh.
As much as I would love to be able to render things like him I know I'm not good at it and usually stick to my dark style, this doesn't stop me from trying though. Never hurts to try.
Below Chamba is mooncalfe Sophie. Sophie, well, she's something else. I first saw one of her drawings of a Twi'lek on another site and was blown away. She knows how to draw people hands down. I later find her on here and message her. We get to talking and much like Zac and Chamba, she's a very friendly person, not afraid to talk or share ideas with you. Well, to me she wasn't. I love the way she draws women and well, women. And... women. She's really good at it. She's not bad at drawing males either. I just really like the way she draws women.
Last but by no means least we have KidNotorious Charles. Everything this guy does is amazing. I think I have faved just about everything this guy has done. He's much like Pixar in the sense that even his crap work is good. And like the rest of the deviants I have mentioned, he's a very friendly guy. He's also seen me through some personal problems in the past not meaning to. I thank him for that.
